Goodbye Christmas

Well Christmas was great this year.  I spent alot of time with friends and family.  It was rushed but great non-the-less.  I hate to see the fact that Christmas has become so comercialized.  People have forgotten, and really dont care anymore, that Christmas is the time that we celebrate the birth of Jesus.  I personally believe that people are just afraid.  They have to much pride built up and refuse to accept the fact that there is a higher being.

How is there a higher being?  It is actually easy to answer.  There is no way whatsoever that we evolved from hot goop, monkeys or anything else.  The one thing that proves that is the eye.  The eye is one of the most complex parts in the body.  EVERY part and piece must be functioning to for the eye to work.  You cannot have only 99.9% of your eye working because then you would be blind.  Because of this complex situation, it would have had been created, molded into the image of something already existing.  I refuse to believe that I am chance, that I was an accident.  Everythig is to perfect to be an accident.  On top of that, to many things prophecied through out the Bible have already came true.  I know that everyone doesnt agree with what I have said but that is cool.  I believe the Bible is the word of God, Jesus is the son of God, he died for everyone so  we could live forever, and that he loves everyone and will come back a judging king.  That day is getting nearer and nearer.

Real quick, these are some things with Christmas that erks me though,

Jesus is not the reason for the season.....we are the reason for the season because we are the reason Jesus came in the first place.

The 3 kings...yeah maybe but maybe not.  They were astrologers and there may have been alot of them, not just 3.  The Bible says nothing about only 3.  They brought 3 types of gifts though.

They did not visit Jesus in the manger.  He was between 1 and 2.  They visited him in a house.

Theres alot more but this is long enough already....later kids and happy new year

Tis the End

Finally, the end of the semester has come.  Today was great.  I really enjoyed presenting everything to the board.  The best part by far was afterwards.  Its really cool how things work out, your friends that you meet.  The Order has the oddest cluster of people I have ever seen, and it's great.

Lily gave me a pimpin hat today that I have honestly wore all day. Lily is super thoughtfull.

We had band practice today.  Our final show is coming closer but I am looking forward to it.  One of the big reasons I was playing in the band is gone now so it only seems right.  We will be playing at the Talia Bassment Jazz Club Jan 6 and everyone is invited.  All the proceeds will go toward the Kevin Triplett Scholarship Foundation.  Kevin was the guy I started the band with.  He battled cancer for like 7 years and it finally came to an end two weeks ago.  Kevin was a brother to me and I miss him alot but he is so much better off.  He was such a devoted Christian.  He trusted in the Lord everyday to get him through what he was facing.  The entire time, he couldnt wait till he meet face to face with Christ.  I really admire him.  He was a true hero.  So if you can, please come out and support Kevin's thing.  You may not like all the music but overall, its not about that.

Tomorrow will be a good day, I hope.  Chilling at Talia tomorrow , getting some work done.  Then Im off to post chainsaws on the Logger Shops website.  Ill be so glad when I get all the inventory posted, because I will be able to redesign the look of the site.  I dont like it at all now the way it is.  Ive gotten 5 chainsaw done...25 to go.

To the Order reading this, this semester has been amazing.  It has shown me who true friends are, who really cares about you.  Such a great small group off people assemble in that small dungeon and I wouldnt trade it for anything.  I love you all and hope that you have a great Christmas and that everyone stays safe.

I cant wait to see you guys again...I will have a beard...yes...thats right...a beard....!..._...

Sleeping Sun

IT IS FINISHED!  The Kip is done.  Im somewhat happy with it.  I ran into a few complications but overall, it will work until portfolio.  I almost glued my fingers together, that would have sucked.

The rest of the week should be good.  Makita stuff tomorrow, hope that goes down.  I can't wait to grade stuff.  Ill be mounting things tomorrow and preparing for the presentation...dont really know how that will throw down but we will see.

Im really excited because Tator told me that we can use digital photos for our portfolio as long as they were taken this semester, so Ill be throwing some of the XT stuff in there.  Im doing a DVD so hopefully it should look good.

Casey is going to the beach this week, which is sad since she will be gone but Ill have a few days to get stuff down.  Friday I will be traveling to Danville Va to take photos of Friday Never Counts and Sullivan, they are a band out of Durham that is signed to Tooth & Nail records, the biggest Christian Rock label right now. They are a super good band and really cool guys so hopefully this will lead to some good contacts for the future.

Anywho...tomorrow is coming sooner so Im off to bed.

Amazingness...

So this is sweet, I have 3 photography jobs this coming weekend. I done some shots for some friends of mine over the weekend. After posting them, their label went all crazy about them so I get to shoot twice in Charlotte next weekend for 2 of their other bands. This could be such a huge open door into getting my name out. Hopefully if all goes well, they will ask me back.

So anyway thats Friday Never Counts, they are an amazing band. I ordered a lens hood for my new lense so that should come in the next few days. Well heres some shots I took over the weekend. Enjoy...I hope

Whats throwing down...

Alright today, the Stude, Lily, Shat, Shloni, and Mrs. Pretty Lashes are going to go shoot under the parking decks. (More may come, I do not know) We will do time lapses and what not because its cool like that. Stude and I have been there before but it was to bright that day and I fear that is the same for today. So...maybe just grunge shots, I do not know.

I found this to be a fabulous photo. It is the Shat having his ear picked by Shvic. That day I shot 2 rolls of color around the college. Mrs Pretty Lashes and Myself went and shot photos around the playground. I dont like to shoot like leaves and stuff, Im a people person so I felt like a stalker taking so man shots of M.P.L but I dont take them home and stare at them while....Anywho...

The first one of M.P.L was Lomoized in PS. The 2nd one was desaturized. This one is just normal.

Put In My Place

I went shopping today after school for pants.  I had a huge hole in one of my other pair so I needed some more.  As I was shopping around for pants hat fit, it dawned on me on how good we have it made.  We all shop around for stuff that we like that suits our style and what fits.  A lot of people in this world cant do that.  They are lucky to even have clothes that fit, or clothes period.  We eat when we are hungry, sleep in our beds at night in warmth, and go to school everyday.  Millions of people cant ever do that.

With that said, I am making it a goal of mine to be more sensitive to the fact that I am well blessed.  To the fact that I can eat when I want to eat, that I have a bed to sleep in at night, and that I am educated.  Casey and I adopted a child through World Visions last year but it really didnt hit me what we were doing until today.  We are giving a child hope, a meaning, a life.  I've been put in my place...

Crazy Cool Book

Alright, this blog is straight serious.

I have recently picked up a book about Iran.  Accordingly, its called "Iran: The Coming Crisis".  Basically, its a book about how Iran has gained nuclear ability, how they came about it, and how it is actually staging the "end of days" according to the Bible.  Now for the ones that don't know, I am a Christian and strongly believe in the Bible and what all it has to say, including prophecy.  Now I know alot of people could care less about it and think that it is just all a hoax but if you actually read through it, things prophecied 2,600 yrs ago have came true.  Take the great Empires of the middle east, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.  The book of Daniel prophecied about these empires and the fall of these empires thousands of years before they took place.  That alone is crazy but the prophecies about the "End of Days" are beginning to come together too.  Take this for example:  In Daniel, it is said that Rosh and Persia will lead the Armegedon battle aginst Isreal to crush it once and for all.  Rosh is modern day Russia and Persia is modern day Iran.  Russia last year, supplied Iran with billions of dollars of missile and rockets, making them allies again after a long fued.  Slowly but surely Russian has began to slip back into their old USSR ways as well and supporting radical Islam.  Islam hates Isreal with a passion and cant wait to see the demise of it.  When the time comes that they can "crush" Isreal, Russia will be right beside them because they could not afford to loose such a valuable ally as Iran, being that they house the worlds largest oil supply.  The book goes alot more in depth about everything and goes more in detail about the prophecies and how they effect the final days and what not but it is super interesting.

As a Christian its exciting to know that things are coming together.  Its exciting to know that "that day" is getting closer.  People can say that the Bible is fake and those things never happened but man look at history. Things that were prophecied thousands of years ago have came true.  If those things are true, Jesus Christ is real and He died for all of mans sin.  I would want to be sure of where I was going if I died tonight or if the rapture happened, its to important.

I base my beliefs off of things that I have experienced.  I have a relationship with Christ.  I will voice it.  I also really hope that I havnt affended anyone or their beliefs.  I didnt set out to do that.  So, with that said....see ya at 10.

Macing

Today was full of macing

In photography class, all the guys were macing the vulgar redheaded horndog that is mecka or gecko, whatever her name is. Its funnyto see people get all worked up about it cause we are just trying to be nice to her, mainly goofing around but ya know.

In Chads class today, me and lily maced as well, but a different macing.

These are the results:

Yeah thats right, we are tards.

Toothpaste...the color of clean

So today has been exciting. As of the moment, I'm sitting on the couch in Thompson listening to the class in 134 talk about some sex addict in a booking grasping herself while looking at a man....yeah. Fun class.

Alright, so Shmee had a crazy guy wanting to know the color of her undergarments. To break up the weird silence I asked her the color of her toothpaste and then proceeded to "enjoy" that color. Funny haha. Well, to that point, how weird must you be to randomly ask ppl the color of their underwear. What does that do for people? Does the fact that I'm wearing grey boxers turn anyone on? I would hope not. I would just like to know what drives this odd fetish.

Well my new purchase should come in today or tomorrow. I bought my self a Epiphone Les Paul Custom in Alpine White with gold hardware. It is beautiful. With that said, I'm needing to sell a bass so if anyone knows someone who would like to buy an Ernie Ball Music Man, let me know. I hate to part with it but I have to pay for that new Paul.

Oh yeah, I'm going to start posting a photo with every blog. I don't know why but I will...if I can figure it out

This was FAK3 in Boone.

Flocking like birds

Alright, if you dont have it by now I highly suggest getting the new browser Flock. FAK3 told me about it today and I have just got done playing around with it for about a hour. Its amazing. It allows you to have your flickr or photobucket photos load inside the browser and you can drag the photos into comment boxes or emails or whatever to add photos to stuff. It is sweet.

Anywho, today, ahhh what a great day it was. ... Well, yeah nothing really happened, but I did get to pose for some photographs today, that was fun. Im alittle worried though, cause I looked either really stupid or really gay in alot of them but it was fun. LOL I wont be able to show my face in WalGreens or WalMart anymore because of them. They were like porn photos but with clothes still on....weird. Anywho, Im out just because Im not big into long blogs.

WOW how did i forget this...

Friday, Mr. Super Generic Name (Chris Smith) and I went to Boone to shoot campus stuff. We met Shloni and Amber there. We hung around the campus and shot film for a while then took it to Boone Drug to get developed. To kill time, we ate at CiCis. Awsome pizza, try it sometime. Afterwards, we drifted into a small store called Expressions. Near the back, I saw stuff I wasnt expecting. So it was like this....gift cards, handcuffs, 3 ft tallywacker... thats right, 3 ft double dong for the ladies.....need i saw more

awkward....

thanks amber for feeling my awkwardness...i suppose chris and shloni like that stuff...alot haha

Smashing Modems

Alright, today has been a so so day. Nothing major....but my modem is slower than a 80 yr old without a hover round. I would love to see the prices of scarowinds tickets but no, that would be too easy. Anywho theres my venting for this evening.

To the not mean nasty talk about modems, i posted alot of photos i took over the weekend on flickr yesterday. I was super happy with alot of them. Most of them were of Casey since I havnt taken any pictures of her in a while. I shot almost all of them at Cub Creek Park. Theres lots of cool stuff there with really cool colors. That was my excitment for the weekend.

Today I got a pumpkin. ...that was painted as a "I smoked way to much pot today" eye. It was super sweet of that lady to get the GD crew pumpkins but what do you do with it. Place it outside your door to scare away ppl with a phobia of huge eyes. If that was the case, I could scare the crap out of some ppl. Make em pee there pants and wish they wore depends. But im not like that so i wont do that to em, if there are any.

Anywho, im buying another guitar soon...maybe a Fender Tele or maybe a Gibson Les Paul.... I dunno I havnt made up my mind yet. It will probably be the cheaper of the 2 cause I still have to buy a tube amp and I already know what Im getting there. This was completly random...Im sorry...truely.

Tomorrow....I hope I see someone blow a bubble and pop it to where it goes all over their face....that would be great...

pullin an all day

Alright, well I started my new job this week and I pulled my first 8-5er. Fun stuff I tell ya. Im going to be dreaming about meta date and CSS. But so far so good. The site is really starting to come together and look really good. For a logging equipment retailer, it looks very modern and not what I would expect out of that type of buisness, which is good.

Along with a new job, I started shooting promo shots for bands this week. My buddy Zeb is starting his solo career and we did some promo stuff yesterday. Im really happy with the outcome of most of them. I manually focused alot of them so in one or two its a little bit fuzzy. I shot them all in RAW so i was able to tweak all of them, bring out real rich, saturated colors. I have a new passion for RAW, its amazing....anywho

Tomorrow, FAK3 and I will be traviling to Boone to shoot B&W of the campus and what not. Loni and Amber might come to, that is TBA.

new top secret mission....but not so secret

Alright, blog number 2. Sorry for not doing it in a while, I've been busy.

Anywho, today I strolled around WCC with my Canon XT in hand shooting random things. I really didn't shoot anything I thought was "interesting" but I tried to pick stuff with some neat lighting. Most of the stuff that I shoot was in front of Thompson underneath the trees. The limbs made great shadows. Well later on I PS them a little bit and Im super excited in how they turned out. So, from here on out, I am dragging my XT everywhere I go, shooting at will...the camera, not a gun, thats illegal and Im not a crazy psyhco path that wants to eliminate everyone in my way. I plan to shoot everything in RAW just because its so editable. The sucky thing is that my CF isn't the biggest so after about 50 shots, I have to dump them on the lappy.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/18309032@N00/

go there to see some of the stuff I shot...theres only 2 I know but more will come.

Anywho, off I go...

Emergence...

Alright...it has begun. This is my blog for all the Graphic Design guys at Wilkes. I'll try to post every so often but if I don't, please do not beat me down with any type of club or mallet (including golf clubs and club sandwiches). I'll be posting about the normal stuff but I'm gonna try to stick to my perspective in the music/photography/design world. Yeah....so....here we go.
